Annual General Meeting

Greetings all!

After the long silence, SSA is back this new year starting with the first official event of the year: the Annual General Meeting. The 2010 AGM is for all who are interested in meeting people, travelling to see new places or simply want some place to hang out. Details regarding the meeting are as follow:

Date: 12th March 2010 (Friday)
Time: 4.27pm to 6.00pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre 5, Sir Raymond Ferrall Centre
(a.k.a. Learning Hub), UTas Newham Campus, Launceston

Come along (if you are in our little town) and participate in this meeting to give your two cents on how we can serve you better. For more information on who we are, how to get involved, volunteering or registering for membership, simply drop us an e-mail. All enquiries are welcome.

There will be free pizza dinner at 6pm and movie will commence at 6.45pm.

About SSA

The Singapore Student Society(Launceston) was formed a few years before year 2000 when the name was changed to Singapore Students Association(Launceston) in 2001. We have seen many changes in SSA. We went high tech and started our blog in 2007 and Facebook in 2009 to reach a wider community and bringing together all graduate and current students together from all over the world.

SSA is not limited to Singaporeans. We have students from Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, America, many other international students and local students as well. We assist new international students studying in Launceston and plan events for everyone to feel at home in this small community away from home.

We have a counterpart in Hobart, forming Singapore Students Society in 2006. Since 2006, SSA have brought students from Launceston to Hobart during every August for Singapore Night to celebrate Singapore's Birthday.
